The Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Dr. Richard Ampofo Boadu, has as part of his working visit to the Northern Zone Office, inspected an ongoing three (3) storey Lecture Halls/Office Complex at the Nyankpala campus of University of Development Studies (UDS).
The project, which is about ninety percent (90%) complete is being undertaken by the Bildex Company Ltd with consultancy services provided by the UDS Works Department with funding from GETFund at a cost of GHC 40 million.
Dr. Boadu and his team were led on the inspection by the Site Engineer, Edin Elorm Nordzievor. The Administrator was generally impressed with the progress and the quality of work thus far. He, however, tasked the contractor to improve on the quality on the finishings of the woodworks.
The elated UDS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Seidu Alhassan, was pleased with work done by the contractor and he was hopeful that, the project will be completed and commissioned by the President in January 2023.
According to Prof Seidu, this project was a personal promise by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at the UDS 25th anniversary celebration in 2018 as an anniversary present to the first public University in the northern enclave. The building when completed is expected to provide office space for the Campus Principal and all other auxiliary staff as well as lecture halls to contain a minimum of 1,600 students.
