In January 2021, Mawums Limited handed over two brand new Nissan Pick-Up vehicles to the Salaga Divisional Police Command to curb armed robbery on the highways and other violent crimes being committed in the area.

The donation is a part of our numerous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and it is intended to equip the police in the East Gonja Municipality to fight the increasing rate of crime.

Mawums Limited is hopeful that the pick-ups will increase police patrols in the Salaga division to clamp down the increasing rate of kidnapping, highway robberies and other criminal activities that require police mobility.

The Salaga Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Amos Yelisong, in his acceptance address expressed gratitude on behalf of the division to Mawums Limited for the gesture. He revealed the vast nature of the division coupled with limited resources, has led to rise in criminal activities such as kidnapping, highway robberies, assault and attacks on police personnel.

The Kpembewura Banbange Ndefoso IV, who chaired the programme expressed his profound gratitude to Mawums Limited for this CSR activity and appealed to others to emulate.

In a recent conversation with Chief Superintendent Amos Yelisong, he reiterated his gratitude to Mawums Limited for the donation and further expressed how the two pick-up vehicles have been impactful in their administrative and operational activities as well as reduced incidents of armed robbery, kidnapping and other crimes within the district and beyond.
