Mr. Fuseini Wumbei

Managing Director

Mr. Fuseini Wumbei  is the Managing Director of Mawums Limited. As a Business Executive, he started his first business by setting up a sole proprietorship called Wums Lumber Supplies and Co. in 1992 to supply lumber and building materials to the local communities and clients such as Taysec, PWD, as well as other local road and building contractors in the Northern region of Ghana. Having developed a great deal of interest in construction, Mr. Wumbei learnt more about the industry and started Mawums Agencies. The business began to see growth and was eventually registered as a Limited Liability Company, with the name Mawums Limited.

He has over 25 years of managerial experience and has successfully led Mawums Limited to its current position as one of the best local contractors in Ghana, with subsidiaries in Real Estate and Quarry operations. His vision is to put Mawums Limited on a global front as a one-stop shop in the ‘Construction Value Chain’.

 

Mrs. Amatu Mohammed Wumbei

Deputy Managing Director

Mrs. Amatu Mohammed Wumbei is the Deputy Managing Director of Mawums Limited. She has served in various capacities including Administration Manager since 2009 when she joined the organization. Prior to that, she was a teacher. Amatu is an energetic, ambitious and a goal-getter person with a gifted skill in Monitoring and Evaluation.

As the Deputy Managing Director, she supports the Managing Director in the development and implementation of the strategic plans and objectives of the company. Amatu has direct oversite responsibilities for the Procurement and Logistics Department where her expertise in monitoring and evaluation comes to bare.

She holds a Commonwealth Executive Masters in Business Administration from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies from University College of Education, Winneba and Teachers’ Certificate ‘A’ from Tamale Teacher Training College. Amatu is currently studying law at Mountcrest University College.

Commercial Director

Hayford Buabeng Kyeremah is the Commercial Director of Mawums. He is a Construction Project Management expert with Finance background.

He started his career with the Ghana Highway Authority as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, rising sturdily through Senior, Principal, Chief, and finally retiring as the Director of Quantity Surveying.

In the various capacities as Quantity Surveying professional, He has played many roles in the infrastructural development of the Ghanaian economy. He has been involved in supervising many consultancy services, Works, Goods, and other complex combinations of procurement systems and projects over the past 3 decades. He has had good exposure in the implementation of several internationally funded projects i.e. the implementation of Multilateral Donor agreements including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, African Development Bank, JICA, Kfw, Badea, EU, and MIDA.

He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors and part of the current education and training committee of the Institution. He has served as a resource person in many interesting Construction Project Topics including the “Use of Civil Engineering Method of Measurement ‘4th edition’ in the Construction Industry in Ghana”.

He has over 30 years of experience in Contract Administration particularly in claims and Dispute Resolution.

He holds a BSc. degree in Building Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), EMBA in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), and an MSc in Construction Project Management from the University of Loughborough, UK. He also has a diploma in the Application of Information Technology to Business Strategy from Tokyo Japan.

Director of Projects, Engineering & Construction

Rev. Solomon Adjasoo Abijah has over 32years construction industry experience in civil engineering, building engineering, survey engineering, infrastructure engineering, project management and construction management.

This over three decades experience period have been with civil / mep infrastructure development, general buildings development, real estate / housing developments, hospitals development and factories development – these experiences have included surveys & designs, construction & supervision of airfields, ports, roads, highways & buildings across Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and within real estate developments in Ghana. This work has included designs, designs coordination, construction / production planning, coordination of works and the supervision of managers, engineers & supervisors.

Solomon has worked with multi-national private companies and Ghanaian private companies during his entire career, which started in 1993 from site engineering level and rising up to Chief Engineer / Directorship.

He is a corporate member of the Ghana institution of engineering and technology, he is also a Reverend Minister, pastoring a local church. He has also undertaken and participated in several medium / short-term career development and professional courses over the decades.

Mr. Victor Quainoo Annor

Head Of Finance

Mr. Victor Quainoo Annor joined Mawums Ltd in January 2022 as the Head of Finance. He is a finance and accounting professional with diverse managerial experience in financial reporting, real estate development & financing, corporate & investment banking. He started his career with Ghana Home Loans as a Financial Analyst where he worked directly with the CFO in administering treasury functions, financial reporting, and budgeting for the mortgage portfolios. Added to his key achievements was his analytic support when the company issued the first $100m residential mortgage-backed securitization bond in Ghana.

Upon the migration of Ghana Home Loans into a universal bank (GHL Bank Plc.), he assumed the role of a Senior Financial Analyst responsible for managing the bank’s $115 million portfolios of retail and mortgage assets. He maintained oversight responsibility of the bank’s foreign liability-driven investment portfolio exposure valued over $81m to Development Financing Institutions and Private Equity Firms.

He later served as a Senior Accountant for Group Treasury & Mortgage Divisions at First National Bank Ghana Ltd. He was accountable for managing short- and long-term liability valued at $80million through commercial paper program, borrowing facilities from First Rand Group and Development Financing Institutions. He managed the bank’s investment securities & mortgage asset portfolio valued at $110million and made recommendations for optimization to improve profitability and risk mitigation.

Until recently, he worked with Third Way Capital Ltd (a Canadian based private equity firm) as the Senior Investment Manager. His major tasks focused on business acquisition to grow the firm’s equity portfolio in Ghana.  Victor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Land Economy from KNUST and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute- (Charlottesville, Virginia, USA).

Mr. John O. Asiedu

John Asiedu is a professional civil engineer with over 25 years-experience in Road Management and Engineering. Also in the use and application of Equipment and Labour Based Technologies in roads rehabilitation and maintenance. Lectured the use of Equipment and Labour Based Technologies at the Koforidua Training Centre of the Ministry of Roads and Highways and assisted the Labour Based Technology component of Development Engineering at the Civil Engineering Department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and the Ministry of Local Government Rural Development Labour Intensive Public Works Programme.
I have also on the World Bank/ILO/UNDP 4th Highway Project, where l received training in labour-based road rehabilitation works and also as a Project Manager for the rehabilitation and maintenance of infrastructure using labour-based infrastructure rehabilitation methods. Have also worked as an Excol for the ILO/MOLGRD (project name and a brief of the assignment). Has in-depth knowledge of the World Bank procurement process.
Has extension knowledge of road maintenance works and has been involved in developing and mainstreaming of SME, communities and length-person systems. Contribute to the development of the Department of Feeder Roads (DFR) Maintenance Performance and Budgeting System (MPBS) for the planning, budgeting and scheduling of maintenance works and the practitioners guide for to rural roads improvement and maintenance using labour based methods. A manual prepared for local government in Ghana.
Since 2018 I have actively been involved in planning and management of building projects in the Northern and Southern parts of Ghana.

General Manager - Arigu Quarry

Kwame Nti Karikari is a Project Management professional from a Finance and Accounting practitioner and training.  He started his career as an Accounts Officer at Alliance Francaise D’ Accra, then moved to SIC Life Insurance Company as Snr. Accounts Officer.

In 2008 he joined LMI Holdings as the Finance & Accounts Manager and doubled up as the Project Accountant for the Construction of a 100,000 Tonnes Capacity Warehouse for Ghana Cocoa Board at Takoradi ($78,000,000.00) constructed by the LMI Holdings Group (ILDC & J. Murphy Ltd).

Kwame was instrumental in securing a $16million Facility from Ecobank Ghana Ltd for the Construction of the first ever private Electricity Sub-station of 165MVA situated in Tema Free Zones Enclave, by Enclave Power Company Limited (EPC) and $13million facility for the construction of Mega Warehouse (biggest warehouse in West Africa) under International Warehousing Company (IWC) both subsidiaries of LMI Holdings.

In 2014 he was appointed as the General Manager for Atlantic Quarry & Concrete Products Limited a subsidiary of LMI Holdings, where he set up one of the country’s ultra-modern Quarry of a 500tph crushing capacity in Dawa. He secured the contract that supplied the entire Ready-Mix Concrete to WBHO for the construction of the Weija Mall.

Before joining Mawums Limited in 2021, as the General Manager – Arigu Quarry, Kwame was a Consultant for Amandi Investments Limited on their quarry related issues at all their project sites.

Kwame holds an MSc in Project Management from the University Salford, BSc Accounting (Oxford Brooks), ACCA and Diploma in Business Studies.

He has consulted for many companies on Accounting & Finance, Tax Management, Insurance, Construction Contracts, and Quarry Management.

He has passion for training and coaching.
